I want Moore Mandy!

How late is this post for Mandy Moore’s concert here in Manila? Hahaha! Forgive the procrastinator! Good thing I’m still in a Mandy-high right now that I still remember most of the details, unlike the previous concerts I’ve been to that I can’t even blog about them anymore ‘coz I barely remember a thing! Haha! So here goes :

What did I love most about the concert?
It’s Mandy (duh, of course!). Seeing her live for the 2nd time in my life made me a fan girl once again (the 1st time was in Araneta Coliseum back in 2003). Her voice was just so lovely and melodic, I loved how it sounded just like the way it was on her CD. Actually, even better! You know how other artists digitally improve their voices for better quality on their CDs right? Well, Mandy should be so damn proud she has this naturally good voice. I love listening to her (I’m sure the other people there too!), she’s definitely matured vocally, and the passion just radiates. I guess we can attribute that to the fact that she’s singing her own songs - the ones she penned about her love and life. Some of the songs are just so emotional, you can actually feel the overflow of emotions when she sang them (especially Gardenia).

Mandy also now plays the guitar! It was in the concert that I first saw her do it. It’s obvious she just knows a little, but the effort was there so I give her props for that! I love the mix of Can’t You Just Adore Her and I Wanna Be With You She gave away her guitar pick, whoever got that .. can I buy it from you? LOL.

Another revelation from the show : Mandy is chatty, definitely. Back in 2003, she just sang her songs .. only a bit of interaction with the audience. This time, she chatted all the way thru the end! She even apologized for it which she shouldn’t have ‘coz we loved it! That made the show a bit more personal. Actually, I felt I wasn’t in a concert at all. The vibe was like a jamming/unplugged session kinda thing, which I absolutely love She was so fascinated with the warm welcome of her Filipino audience, she mentioned of wanting to come back soon. I hope she does!

Lastly, I confirmed that she’s super nice - the kind that you find it so cute you just want to hug her everytime Aside from her cute chattiness, she charmed all of us when she got out her digital camera and took a video of her audience. She was so amazed with the nice reception she got from us, she just had to take that video so she can keep that happening in memory. She said, we’ll forever be on her hard drive. Awww And most importantly, during the meet and greet, she did me a nice favor. See, the event staff and guards were super OA, they told us that we can just have 1 CD signed and no photos with Mandy. Boo What can I do? I don’t want those bouncers bringing me by the arm taking me out of the venue right? So we were forced to follow. Since I got 2 CDs that time, I brought 1 from home and the other I just bought there so I can do the meet and greet (that was for the 1st 30 buyers of Wild Hope from Odyssey), I was thinking of a way to have both signed. When I entered the area to meet Mandy, the girl at the door took away the post-it that they initially gave us to put our names so Mandy can just copy, and said that Mandy will just sign .. no more names. Bummer. Then there I was, right infront of the girl I really admired from years ago, she just smiled. I was so astonished, I gave both of my CD covers and the bouncer saw it. He told me, “only 1″ and took away the other. Mandy saw what happened and told him, “no no, I’ll sign both!” and smiled at me. In your face, bouncing bouncer! Yay!

So my chit-chat with Mandy went :
Me : Hey Mandy!
Mandy : Hi!
Me : I liked you since A Walk to Remember.
Mandy : Aww, really?
Me : I also watched you the first time you were here, in Araneta.
Mandy : Aww, thank you!
(She finished signing my CD covers)
Me : Thank you very much and congrats!
Mandy : Thank you too

Aww I wanted to have a picture taken with her. But they didn’t allow it, they said they have official photographers but no one took pics during the meet and greet. This one I regret up to this day. Actually, whenever I watch videos of Mandy in Youtube, I still feel sad about it. So near yet so far. Apologies for the major fan mode. But then again, meeting Mandy was a very special time, I’m blogging about it now so I’ll always remember
