Can April Fool’s Day be April Fool’s Week?
April 7, 2008
As I mentioned in my last post, the past few days of this month hasn’t been that good to me. It seems that every single day that pass, I experience or learn something bad, sad, or annoying, that I actually wish April Fool’s Day can just take it all away and when I wake up the next day, it will just be the way it used to be - alright that is. I’m wishing that April Fool’s Day just enjoyed itself and decided to extend for a week. I really wish.
Holiday for us here today in Manila - Araw ng Kagitingan, which I honestly don’t know why we celebrate that. Good thing though ‘coz I really don’t like going out these days. Eversince I had this condition in my eyes, I feel handicapped already that I find it a hassle to go out anymore. Darn. So I hope all of these will get resolved SOON. I have an eye checkup on Wednesday, I’m thinking if I should also use that day to go to DFA to renew my passport instead of going to work half day. Yeah, my passport is expiring on October so that means I have to renew it 6 months before right, and that means I have to renew it this month. What is better, just get someone to process it for me or go straight to DFA like what I did when I first applied? I understand that both options require personal appearance but the difference is - when someone renews it for me, I go to DFA only for thumb-marking; and if I process it on my own, I have to fall in line. I have to pay double though if I ask someone to do it for me. So which is which?
Oh, I need to update this blog to Wordpress 2.5 ‘coz the update note/link keeps on bugging me whenever I log in. Good luck to me.

heya!
you can renew your passport online. just call the number they have on the DFA website and the courier will come to your house or office at a given date (yun nga lang, you’re basically stuck at the appointed place kasi they can’t guarantee the time). then, once manong courier gets your requirements, you’ll be given a date when to go to DFA for the personal appearance/thumbprinting and signature. if all is good (like your picture being approved — they have this weird new requirement and it gets tricky having the picture taken; white background with a particular height and it can’t be digital) — you receive your new passport in the mail.
good luck!
