Mamma Mia! | Slipping Through My Fingers

I watched Mamma Mia! last Sunday with Raych. I was actually surprised when I learned that it has yet to start playing in US theaters! Anyways, the movie was superb and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. It made me appreciate Meryl Streep more, and Amanda Seyfried was a revelation ‘coz I only knew her from being Karen Smith (”I think I have ESPN or something” girl) from Mean Girls. The story was simple but the execution was just amazing. The cast were special in their own ways, and the location was just great! I’m sure after seeing this film, a lot of people will want to see Greece.

Anyways, as this blog is entitled “Slipping Through My Fingers” - I just want to share with everyone my favorite scene in the movie : when Sophie (Amanda Seyfriend) asked her mother Donna (Meryl Streep) to give her away as she walks down the aisle on her wedding day. The song was perfect with the scene and the acting was just emotional, it literally brought me to tears! When I saw the scene on Youtube and watched it again, it still gave me goosebumps. I guess I can attribute that to the fact that I’m close to my mom and I’m the only daughter, and that scene is very relatable.
